Today it is very windy and cold!  The wind sounds like a freight train outside the windows.  This week was a beauty weather wise - unseasonably warm and sunny for February.  It was great.  The sun is shining today but brrr!  

I just took a nap with a "live" stuffed animal.  Rupert, one of my standard poodles and I curled up under a blanket and took a nap.

This has been a busy week.  Monday Bekah had Valentine's exchange.  Tuesday I went over to sit with Mum, who wasn't feeling well because of her arthritis. Tuesday night I had Stamp Club and I was in charge of the cards and snacks.  Wednesday night was PTO meeting and watching a dress rehearsal of "Goodbye Charlie".  Thursday was lunch and shopping with Mum, Aunt Karen and Anne-Marie.  Then After School Recess with Bekah, Desserts with Mum at the middle school and finally the band parent meeting.  Friday was actually a nice quiet day spent cleaning and running a few errands.  I spent my Christmas bonus and bought myself a troll bead bracelet with a small flower clasp.

Today just hanging out around the house and tonight we are working the lobby at "Goodbye Charlie".

I am thinking... about news I just heard that a friend's best companion - her dog - was killed Friday night
I am thankful for...2 great dogs alive and well!
From the kitchen...Foxes for lunch - steak salad and a piece of pizza and leftovers and salad for supper

I am creating... Valentines for church
I am reading... The Blue Orchard - great story
I am going... finish my project and clean my craft desk
I am hoping... a stress less week - HUH!!!

Well, here it is 10 days into February and I haven't posted since January 29th.  I've been busy with Groundhog Day, Book Fair, Snow, Rain, Ice, and bitter cold!  Phil saw his shadow so we are supposed to have an early spring.  I don't think he let Mother Nature in on his prediction because we have he 3 - 2 hour delays for school this week because of snow on Tuesday and yesterday and today because of the wind chill and since there is an advisory for tomorrow morning also there might be another one tomorrow.  Well, it is February so it is to be expected.  I'm creating Bekah's valentines for her class party on Monday.  I sent off a package to Gramom for Valentine's Day and tomorrow will get one off to Michael.

Well, I haven't been here most of the week.  

It has been very busy.  2 mornings at work, 

3 days at book fair, book club, reading with a 

dog for Bekah and then just the usual stuff that

goes on around here.  It was a fun week but busy!

Snow a few days and today Bill was home so he 

did the snow blowing job - Yeah!!  He and I

had a dinner date on Wednesday night.  That was

 nice to get out and talk in a relaxed setting.

It's getting to be time for bed now.  Next week

I'm going to try to do better with my blogging!!

Weekend Thoughts

January 21 - 23, 2011
Friday
Well, it was quite a busy end to last week and I didn't get to post.
So, here are some thoughts from the weekend.
Friday was spent at the book fair all day after the 2 hour delay. 
Rich rearranged the schedule and we got all the kids in - so glad!
I worked it with Sandy which is always a great time.  Bekah wanted
to ride the bus to school but I didn't have time to get her there.  I told
her she could pack a lunch from Sheetz and she decided that was
definitely better than riding the bus.  So, we went to Sheetz and she got
a ham sandwich with ranch dressing, chips and a bottle of juice.  I got a
chicken breast sub.
Saturday
It was very cold.  It was a great day.  Bekah made me scrambled eggs
for breakfast with a piece of bread.  Then we spent the day in our jammies
on the couch watching Hallmark channel romance movies and knitting! 
It was so much fun.  I love to watch Hallmark movies - Happily ever after!
Bill made lasagne casserole from the freezer for dinner.

Sunday
Again it is bitter cold!  We went to church and then met the girls at Foxes
for lunch.  Love the Veggie Wedgie!  Then I went to Walmart to get a few
things we needed.  I came home and knitted some more and watched more
romance movies.  Bill and I fixed the recliner couch.  Cheeseburger salad for
supper.  Then I watched the end of the Packers/Bears playoff game. 
The Packers are going to the Super Bowl.  After that game,
the Steelers/Jets came on.  Well, after a good game the Steelers are going
to the Super Bowl!!  Third time in 6 years!  Hopefully they will win - it
will be a tough game.  The best part was that around 9:15 pm the phone
got a text and it was announcing a 2 hour delay for school!  Sleep in time!!

FOR TODAY

Outside my window...cold, partly sunny blue skies - no snow yet
I am thinking...glad that there are credit cards to pay my transmission bill with for the short term.
I am thankful for...a relaxing job.
From the kitchen...Since I had to go out of town with the van, Bill put chicken in the crockpot before he left for work this morning.
I am wearing...blue jeans, a blue henley shirt, bare feet, and I actually got earrings in today!
I am creating...playing with yarn for a baby blanket for the church bazaar.
I am going...to the school board meeting tonight.
I am hoping...the predictions for snow will not come true this week.
I am hearing...Janie watching Law and Order.
Around the house...poodles are barking at something out the window.
One of my favorite things...talking one on one with my kids when they are "trapped" in the car with me!

FOR TODAY
Outside my window... a dark still, very cold, in the single digits, night
I am thinking...about how much the bill for my transmission in the mini van will be tomorrow.
I am thankful for...a wonderful church family!!
From the kitchen...We went out for lunch to our favorite pizza place where I had a steak salad and then a chicken salad for supper.
I am wearing...my nightgown - I think I see a theme here.  I LOVE my jammies!!
I am creating...today I created mitten shaped cards on my Cricut and envelopes to send church bulletins to those who weren't there today.
I am going...go to work tomorrow.
I am hoping...for a good night's sleep.
I am hearing...the PA farm show on the tv behind me.  The draft horses hitched to wagons are on.
Around the house...it is very quiet

Outside my window... a new fresh fluffy 4 inches of snow!
I am thinking...I just want to curl up with a good book and a warm blanket today.
I am thankful for...Bill, my husband, because he is home today and got the snowblower running and he did the work today!!!
From the kitchen...I'll have to wait to see what Bill whips up - he usually cooks supper on the weekends :)
I am wearing...my nightie because I just got up for the second time this morning.

Outside my window...beautiful morning after a light fluffy snow fall.

From the kitchen...tuna fish with a hard boiled egg, celery, onion and mayonnaise with a diet sam's cola to drink

I am going...to relax tonight

A few plans for the rest of the week: not sure what the weekend will bring other than 1 or 2 church services and a meeting for the girls youth group trips.
